Recent Works on Paper
All day I hear the noise of waters
Making moan,
Sad as the sea-bird is, when going
Forth alone,
He bears the winds cry to the waters’
Monotone.
The grey winds, the cold winds are blowing
Where I go.
I hear the noise of many waters
Far below.
All day, all night, I hear them flowing
To and fro.
-James Joyce
I work in all mediums, analog and digital, human and mechanic, rich and poor, shit and
Scheiße, sound and picture; not too slow, a bit too fast. I am interested in analog works
that read very quickly and equally quickly create the position of being able to think about
the thought that the work just raised; a sense of peace, agency and ownership of one’s
own point of view. -Veli-Matti Hoikka
